Fruit Jam Production Line Design
By:Salinovate Team Mar 22,2026
Do you know what a jam production line looks like? From fresh fruit to richly flavored jam, it involves multiple processes. We've already covered jam production technology in Smooth Jam and Fruit Preserve Production Technology extensively. This article will focus on analyzing the fruit jam production line design.
I. Production Line Overview
This production line adopts classic jam processing technology, using planetary cooking mixer and jacketed mixing tank as the core cooking equipment. Meanwhile, diverse filling equipment and post-packaging pasteurization processes are also included in the production line design. It is suitable for the production of various jams such as strawberry jam, blueberry jam, apple jam, and orange jam.
II. Core Equipment Configuration
The entire production line mainly consists of pretreatment equipment, crushing and chopping equipment, cooking mixer equipment, filling equipment and pasteurization equipment.
2.1 Pretreatment equipment

Equipment Name | Function | Description |
Fruit Sorting Table | Manually select and removes rotten and substandard fruits | Optional |
Bubble Washing Machine | Removes mud, impurities, and pesticide residue | Double cleaning with bubbling and spraying |
2.2 Crushing and Chopping Equipment

Equipment Name | Function | Applicable Jam Types |
Double-stage crushing machine | Initially crushes fruit into a puree | Smooth jam |
Cutting Machine | Cut fruits into dices | Fruit preserve |
2.3 Cooking Mixer
Equipment Name | Function | Key Configuration | Applicable Jams |
SLPC Series Planetary cooking mixer | Heating, cooking, stirring, concentration | Wall scraping and stirring | Smooth jam or fruit preserve(with small bits) |
Heating, cooking, mixing | Low speed paddle mixing | Fruit preserve(with small bits or large chunks) |
Material cart suggestions: After the jam is cooked , it can be transferred to the filling section using a mobile material cart. Following are the equipment suggestions:
● Each jacketed kettle should be equipped with 2-3 material carts (one batch discharge + transfer + waiting for filling)
● Material carts should be equipped with casters for easy movement
● Equipped with a sealing cover to prevent contamination and skin formation
2.4 Filling Equipment
Common jam packaging on the market includes bottles and spout pouches. Different packaging requires different filling equipment designs. You can view specific filling solutions in How to Choose the Jam Filling Machine. Therefore, we will not repeat the details here.
The following is one automatic blueberry jam filling machine video from the customer, you can see the filling process for the bottle type package:
2.5 Pasteurization Equipment

Equipment Name | Function | Specifications | Sterilization Parameters |
Pasteurization Tank | Sterilize filled products | Hold 2-4 baskets | 85-90℃, 15-30 minutes |
Cooling Tank | Cool after sterilization | Compatible with sterilization tank | Cool to below 40℃ |
Operating Procedure:
1)After jam is filled, place the bottles or bags into the sterilization baskets.
2)Place in the pasteurization tank and immerse in 85-90℃ hot water for 15-30 minutes.
3)Remove and transfer to the cooling tank, cooling to below 40℃ with cold water.
4)Drain excess water, label, and pack.
III. Summary
This fruit jam production line solution uses pretreatment → crushing → cooking mixing → mobile material cart → filling → pasteurization as its core process. The equipment configuration is simple and practical. If you need to configure a jam production line, we can provide you with equipment solutions. (We mainly manufacture crushers, cooking equipment, and filling equipment. We can also recommend other production line equipment if needed.)
