The heat jacketed stainless steel mixing tank is a container made of stainless steel, its core feature being the jacket design. It typically consists of an inner liner, an outer jacket, and an intermediate insulation layer.
The inner liner, made of high-grade stainless steel, is in direct contact with the food materials.
The outer jacket wraps around the inner liner, forming a sealed cavity for introducing heating (or cooling) media such as steam, hot water, or heat transfer oil.
The mixing system uses a motor at the top to drive a stirring paddle inside the tank, achieving uniform mixing of the materials.

To meet the ever-changing process requirements of the food industry, jacketed stainless steel mixing tanks have been developed in various types.
Standard jacketed tank: A single shell directly wraps around the outside of the tank, forming a jacket space. Simple structure, low cost, suitable for general heating and insulation needs.
Semi-coil jacketed tank: The jacket is welded from semi-circular coil shape pipes surrounding the tank body, resembling a honeycomb or coil. This structure offers stronger pressure resistance, higher heat transfer efficiency, and reduces the overall tank thickness.
Top agitator: The most common type, the agitator is mounted on the top of the tank lid. Stable structure, easy to seal and maintain.
Side agitator: The agitator is mounted on the side of the tank. Suitable for agitating some particularly viscous materials, preventing material sedimentation at the bottom.
Opening Lid Type: The lid can be fully or partially opened for easy feeding, cleaning, and observation. Suitable for processes requiring frequent cleaning or manual assistance.
Closed type: The fixed tank is completely sealed. Usually, there is a feed hopper design on the tank cover to pour in the ingredients.
Heating: By steam heating or electrical heating, the jacket layer temperature gets higher to heat inside ingredients. Its heat is evenly conducted to the material inside the tank through the stainless steel inner wall.
Cooling: When producing products requiring rapid cooling (such as jams), switching valves allows cooling water or chilled brine to be introduced into the jacket. Such step is for rapid cooling and locking in flavor and quality.
Mixing System: The motor drives the mixing shaft via a reducer, which in turn rotates the end-effector (such as paddle, anchor, or turbine). The selection of the impeller depends on the viscosity of the material: turbine impellers are commonly used for low-viscosity fruit juices, while anchor impellers are often used for high-viscosity sauces, often with scrapers to prevent scorching on the tank wall.
Control system: Modern PLC touch screen control system or button control system.
Condiments and Sauces: In the production of ketchup, salad dressing, and hot pot base, it is used for mixing, heating, cooking, and emulsifying materials. The uniform heating provided by the jacket effectively prevents sauces from developing a burnt taste due to localized high temperatures.
Concentrated Soups: Whether it's the simmering of concentrated soups, jacketed tanks provide gentle and precise temperature control. This maximizes the preservation of the food's nutrients and flavor.
Confectionery and Baking Fillings: In the production of fillings such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, and chocolate sauce, continuous stirring and temperature control are required. Jacketed tanks are the ideal choice to prevent sugar crystallization or material sticking to the pot.
