Talk to Our Expert NowSimply speaking, a mixing tank is a vertical stainless steel tank with a built-in agitator. The size of the stainless steel tank is customizable, ranging from small to large, to meet customer production needs. Similarly, the built-in agitator styles are also diverse. Different agitators are used for different products.
Mixing tanks are mainly used for mixing and stirring oil-phase and water-phase materials, as well as for homogenization and emulsification. The finished product is either liquid or cream-like.
1)Opening mixing tank: the lid is open type, it is easy to pour in materials and clean the machine.
2)Fixed mixing tank: the lid is closed type, so the dust is less likely to enter and the production is more hygienic. Usually for the fixed type, there is an observation hole design on the mixer lid. Then the operator can easily watch the mixing process.
3)Vacuum mixing tank: there is a vacuum pump design to pump out the air as much as possible. Thus the emulsion is more quality without bubbles.
4)Jacketed mixing tank: in most cases, customers need to heat/cool the raw materials. With the jacket design, steam, and cold water can be sent into the tank.
5)Top homogenizer type: the homogenizer motor is installed at the top of the mixing tank.
6)Bottom homogenizer type: the homogenizer motor is installed at the bottom of the mixing tank.
Generally, mixing tanks are typically designed with three layers to meet customers' needs for both heating and cooling materials. The middle layer is a jacketed layer, and the outer layer is an insulation layer. Of course, we also have single-layer tanks for simple mixing.
In terms of components, a mixing tank usually consists of a tank body, a mixing motor, a mixing shaft and agitator, a homogenizing motor and a homogenizer.
For machine control, the standard configuration is generally button control. Upon customer request, it can be upgraded to PLC touch screen control to achieve more functionality.
Mixing tanks have a wide range of applications, including the food industry, medical and cosmetic industries, and chemical industries.
The mixing tank achieves mixing, homogenization, and emulsification through its built-in agitator and homogenizer. During the process, heating can be activated to melt the solids before mixing and homogenization. Once the materials are well-mixed, cooling water can be introduced into the jacket to cool them.
