I. Product Overview

 

The plow mixer is a single-shaft forced mixing device, named for the special agitator resembling a plowshare mounted on the main shaft. Unlike ordinary ribbon mixers, the plow mixer features an additional high-speed flying knife device on the side of the cylinder. Through the combined action of the plow blades and the flying knife, efficient and uniform powder mixing is achieved.

II. Design Features

 

This type mixer has the special design features in mixing systems, two different types of mixing system are combined together.


2.1 Plow-Type Agitator

 

Core Design: Multiple sets of plow-type agitators are mounted in a staggered arrangement on the main shaft, forming a continuous helical distribution.

2.2 High-Speed Flying Blade

 

Key Function: Mounted on the side of the mixing vessel (typically driven directly by an auxiliary motor), the high-speed chopper serves to break apart and disperse agglomerated materials.

III. Working Principle

 

The working principle of the plow blade mixer can be summarized as the dual action of "plow blade tumbling + flying blade dispersion":

 

● Step 1: The plow blades rotate around a central axis, driving the material to flow circumferentially along the inner wall of the cylindrical vessel. Simultaneously, the blades cast the material outward, perpendicular to their side surfaces, generating a vigorous convective circulation. This design effectively resolves the issue of material stratification commonly encountered in traditional mixers.

● Step 2: As the projected material stream passes through the blade assembly, it is subjected to rapid and forceful shearing and dispersion by high-speed rotating chopper blades. This process is particularly critical for fibrous materials and moisture-agglomerated powders; the blades thoroughly break down any clumps or aggregates, thereby ensuring a uniform blend.

● Step 3: When the addition of liquids (such as oils, flavorings, or water) is required, the liquid is uniformly sprayed onto the material moving within the mixing vessel via a liquid injection device, thereby achieving efficient solid-liquid mixing.
